East Jakarta to Set Up 5 Healthcare Posts in Flood-Prone Areas

East Jakarta Administration is going to set up five healthcare posts in the municipality as one of flood handling actions. Those posts will be located at East Jakarta Health Sub-Department office, Otista Sports Hall (GOR), Oikumene Church, Santa Maria Catholic School, and Bidawan Campus.
If there were flood victims suffered severe illness, they will be referred to three general hospitals in the municipality
“This year, we will set up five healthcare posts in order to provide healthcare services to flood victims,” stated Head of East Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Yuditha Endah, Thursday (11/13).
According to Endah, each post will have five medical officers consist of 2 nurses, 2 doctors, and 1 pharmacist who will be working round the clock. Besides medicines, her party will also deploy ambulance in each post to transport the flood victims referred to the hospital.

In addition to medical officers, Endah continued, her party will also provide children’s playground and one psychiatrist. This is conducted because many flood victims, especially children, were having trauma due to they lost their homes.
“The psychiatrist is to heal trauma for the children who lost their homes,” she told.
As known, East Jakarta is a flood-prone area in the capital city. There are at least five flood-prone urban villages there, namely Kampung Melayu and Bidara Cina in Jatinegara Sub-District, Kayu Putih in Pulogadung Sub-District, Cawang in Kramat Jati Sub-District, and Cipinang Melayu in Makasar Sub-District.
